Ludacris dropped his newest album 'Battle of the Sexes' over 13 weeks ago, and now he's got a plaque to show for it. Luda's 'Battle of the Sexes' has been given a gold plaque by the RIAA for crossing the 500,000 sales threshold, a noteworthy feat for an album that debuted at the top of the Billboard Album Chart back in March.
This marks Luda's eighth consecutive certification, with only his independently released 2000 debut 'Incognegro' failing to achieve any sort of milestone.
'Battle of the Sexes,' originally intended to be a joint concept album with Shawnna, became a solo effort after Shawnna left Ludacris' Disturbing Tha Peace imprint last year. Luda enlisted the help of female emcees like Lil' Kim, Eve, Diamond, Nicki Minaj and Trina as well as fellas such as Trey Songz, Ne-Yo, Flo Rida, Gucci Mane and more to flesh out his gender-focused album.
The singles 'My Chick Bad' featuring Minaj and 'How Low' have already been awarded platinum certification. 'Sex Room,' the Trey Songz-assisted third single off the album, is on its way to receiving the same certification as its predecessors, currently seated at number 85 on the Billboard Hot 100 in its second week on the chart.
