T-Pain Wants to Work With Carrie Underwood

T-Pain has worked with virtually everyone in the rap and R&B world, but that trend is about to end.

"I think I'm done, man -- as far as collaborations," the Auto-Tune king told The BoomBox in an exclusive interview. Still, one last artist has eluded him, and he's made it no secret who that unlikely artist is -- country singer Carrie Underwood. Unfortunately, Pain claims that people don't want to see the two working together.

"It gets weird when I request a 'crazy' collaboration. It gets like downplayed, basically," the top-hatted singer explained. "When Taylor Swift said she wanted to work with me, it was like 'Oh, it's going to be such a great song, blah bah blah.' Then I came back and said I wanted to work with Carrie Underwood and it was like 'Carrie Underwood would never work someone with as less class as you!"

Despite his many achievements, Pain contends that he's still not taken seriously as an artist. "It just got crazy, like, what the f---?" he continued. "I don't know, maybe I'm just the underdog of the game."

In the past Pain has argued that his comical persona has hurt him critically. "I think it's an imagery thing," he told The Boombox back in March. "I don't know if they wanna give the chubby guy with dreads a Grammy." T-Pain, we're pulling for you.

I am also glad that Carrie Underwood doesn't want to work with T Pain. It wouldn't make sense for her to make a record with him, since they both have different audiences.

RE: datgurlbarbie's comment

RACE is not the issue here girl, and for the record I am not a big fan of country music and I am certainly NOT racist. By the way, while it is possible for a white person listening to country to be racist, it is also possible for a black person listening to rap to be a racist too. It works both ways! There is no real reason for T Pain and Carrie Underwood to work together. They have totally different audiences.

What T-Pain does isn't art, either.

Good for Carrie Underwood! She has made a name for herself. She doesn't want to have it drug through the mud with this hood.

I was about to say " that it amazes me that there is so much negative stuff even here". If an artist, no matter what their instrument, is is inspired to create a work that is reflective of their own self essence, so be it. When we began rewarding those who were associated with those that actually acomplished a goal, we began to elevate mediocrocy to the point that we start to fail as a society, look around. We blame those that are blameless and reward thievery, look at the types of shows on tv that we identify with negative, meaningless, self importantence. We don't sing the praises of those that do good things in our society but let one of our hero's show their human side we'll turn on them faster than a pride of hungry lions

I say go for it.. It would be something new and fresh in the music world, plus (I think) it would be a nice step forward culturally. Let's give it a shot...After all it's one song, so if it sucks change the station.

T_PAIN? Dude you do not sing well without your machine enhance voice. What part of that is not clear. Your not a real artist and do not deserve respect over those who have true talent. Without computer enhancements.. Very simple and commonc sense. You are what is wrong with the music industry. Nothing is real and everything is copy cat.

I have to correct one thing you said: "Dude, you do not sing well..." ejf, my friend, the correct statement is that T-Painintheass does not sing, PERIOD! If she agrees to this collaboration, she will be forever known as Carrie Blunderwood, because her career, as well as her fame, will be FINISHED! No radio station would ever play her music again.

I think Carrie Underwood and T-Pain would make a great song! She is awesome and he has LOTS of talent. I am not into "RAP" at all but I have heard his other collaborations and they are awesome. If Katy Perry can sing with Snoop Dogg why can't Carrie sing with T-Pain just once? Live a little Carrie! Go for it! You are awesome and have nothing to lose!
