John Legend's Hairline Becomes Trending Topic on Twitter

On June 27, John Legend was honored with BET's

Humanitarian Award at the annual award show, but apparently the singer's hairline was more of a focal point than his charity work. Legend's, er -- 'uneven' hairline became a trending topic on Twitter, when viewers began to comment on it, with the hashtag #JohnLegendsHairLine.

After noticing the trend, Legend took to his Twitter account, first to thank BET for their support and then to berate viewers for their pettiness. "Btw, my hairline has been the same since I was a kid. Can't believe some people are obsessing about it now. I've been famous for 6 yrs now," he wrote. "And to the haters, I'm still smarter, more talented, more successful and better looking than u. So fall back."

"Sorry y'all. Couldn't believe my hairline was a trending topic. Get a life!" Legend's rant continued.

When a few hours elapsed and Legend had composed himself, he issued an apology for getting angry, and decided to put the drama behind him. "My lesson: don't be distracted by nonsense and focus on what matters," he wrote. "I shouldn't have stooped. We all live and learn. Back to songwriting."

John Legend's collaborative cover album 'Wake Up!" will be released on September 21.

hahaha why do black guys always have that perfect hairline? i think it looks better slightly imperfect... doesn't look so much like a helmet.

@ Andrea Swiss Beatz is no longer married and she did not wreck his marriage ...he did....chill and at Doreen John Legend accepted a Humanitarian Award and if you heard his acceptance speech, you would know that he is a very intelligent and truly humble person working hard to make sure every child gets an education...don't hate unless you know what you hating about.

I really appreciated his speech. I was one of the best acceptance speeches I've heard in a while. Usually when people accept these, it's like blah, blah, blah...But, I felt inspired by every word he spoke. Didn't really pay much attention to his hairline, until I saw it treading.

In my opinion this man is a horrible singer! He sounds like a karaoke singer and as a matter of fact, many of them are better. He is a braggart as well. Reminds me of the talentless Kanye West! I will say that his hairline only calls attention to him which his voice does not do.

What a petty trending topic. Someone commented about that on my Facebook. If you ask me the trending topic should have been about the audacity of that adulteress Alicia Keys flaunting her big belly while shee strolls on the arm of a married man...go figure.

My son has the same problem, due to a cowlick near his front hairline, on the right side. Whenever his hair is cut low, it becomes very obvious. Some people just will focus on anything to bring someone down....SMH!!!
