Eminem's 'Recovery' Scores Biggest Debut of the Year

Fresh off his recent title as best-selling artist of the decade, Eminem has officially landed the biggest record debut of the year with his seventh studio album, 'Recovery.'

Em's sixth No. 1 debut raked in 741,000 in sales in the first week, topping his 2009 album 'Relapse,' which hit the No. 1 spot with 608,000 in sales. Although 'Recovery' failed to hit the golden 1 million sales mark, it is the highest album debut since AC/DC's 2008 album 'Black Ice.'

Billboard reports that 'Recovery' pulled in the record for the second-biggest digital week ever, with 255,000 downloads, following Coldplay's 2008 release 'Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends.' Em's collaboration with Rihanna on the track 'Love the Way You Lie' also helped push sales, topping Billboard's Digital Songs charts with 338,000 downloads.

After admitting a weak return with his 2009 album 'Relapse,' Em has been open about the way his battle with drug addiction has affected his ability to create music. The Detroit rapper has been much more present in the spotlight in recent weeks, appearing on the 'Late Show With David Letterman' and E!'s pop culture show, 'The Soup.' Em is also scheduled to make a cameo on the season finale of HBO's hit series 'Entourage,' where he will be filmed at a platinum record party for 'Recovery.'

What exactly did YOU say about Eminem instead of commenting on everyone elses comments!? LOL. Have a nice day!

that fact that this is the "biggest debut of 2010" gives a clear vision of the currect sorry state of the american music industry. this emotionally-disturbed and mentally-deranged train wreck is possibly the most overrated "musician" of all time.

Why is it the people dissing rap music usually sound more ignorant then the rappers even i dont like. Eminem is one of the best rappers in the world and if you cant admit it then your most likely jealous.

chris - THANK YOU!

CBLUE50 - do you have to be black to be bad ass? Bad ass does not have a color.

People have their own way of expressing themselves. My mom is a 50 year old Portugese woman and she loves Eminem. She saw him go from a punk ass dude that talks crap about Kim and his mom and doesn't give a shit to an adult that can make fun of himself and describe what he is going through in his life to the world. He is one of the only real celebrities left. Cherish it. Listen to the words, not the Rap shit people stereotype him as.

We all have problems. Have you looked at yours lately??

LOL! You people that obviously hate Eminem- you still read the article. I wonder why??
CHEAPERBIRD8- Talent means knowing how to capitalize your letters and write sentences. Retardation means you lack the skills to do so.
BIGTIMETORIFAN- He uses music as an outlet for his anger. You use blogs. The only difference is that he makes millions of dollars and you don't.
CBLUE50- More people are into him than you. If you can't get over that, oh well.
RANDY- People pay lots of pennies to enjoy Eminem. So what if you won't? Nobody would pay to read your blog junk.
You folks who hate Eminem but still read the article, you all said more about yourselves then you did about Eminem. Have a nice day!!
