Solange Says 'A Joint or Two' Helped Her Record New Album -- Say What!

Solange Knowles recently discussed her creative process for her forthcoming, indie rock-influenced album. "I went up to Santa Barbara, found this house on five acres in the mountains and invited a bunch of amazing musicians to come live there with me for a month and just experiment. We woke up around 10 a.m. and made music until midnight, all of course while drinking good wine, picking avocados from the trees outside to make guacamole, and maybe enjoying a joint or two. I left the process a little crazy, but I really feel like I came into my own." Dirty hippies. Just kidding, that sounds awesome. [Refinery29]

Though Max B is currently serving 75 years in prison for his role in a murder back in 2005, he still found a chance to plug his new mixtape 'A Wave Called Yes.' "We got a few treats on there," Max said of the tape. "I remember the night we did them. [Amalgam Records employees] drove me out to Boston, 2 in the morning. I went out there and drank a 60 of Hennessey and knocked out the whole tape. Knocked the tape out in one night. That's what professionals do. This is when I was going to trial. They came and got me on a Friday or Saturday, I had to be back on Sunday, Monday morning to go back to court. It was a real busy week." That's what professionals do. [MTV]
