Questlove and Amy Winehouse Forming Supergroup

The Roots
released their ninth album 'How I Got Over' in June, recently wrapped production on John Legend's upcoming project 'Wake Up!' and already drummer and producer Questlove is at work on his next venture.

Questlove's latest mission is to form a supergroup with troubled British singer Amy Winehouse and producer Raphael Saadiq for a new collaborative album. Quest revealed that he has already recorded some "amazing" material with Winehouse and producer Salaam Remi, and has no doubt that the group is going to come together. The trio's only issue is finding time to record together, since Winehouse is currently unable to obtain a visa to travel to the States. The 26-year-old singer was recently denied entry into the U.S. after facing charges of assault and marijuana possession.

"It's just that we have to work overtime to get her visa situation together. The closest she can come to the States is Jamaica," Quest told Spinner. "I'm actually going over [to Europe] this week -- I'll be in France for four, five days, so I'll see if she's up for discussing this over dinner. We've been Skype-ing the s--- out of each other."

Amy Winehouse's public battle with drugs has slowed the progress of her career in recent years. Her last release was 2006's 'Back to Black.'
