'Def Jam Rapstar,' a new Guitar Hero-esque game that involves karaoke performances of hip-hop classics and freestyles is nearing its release on October 5 and the list of artists contributing to the game continues to grow larger. Now, LL Cool J, A Tribe Called Quest, Big Pun and Ludacris have been added to the game's roster with some of their classic cuts. LL will come hard with his battle rap classic 'Mama Said Knock You Out,' while Tribe will get their collaboration on with the unstoppable 'Scenario.' Big Pun will reunite with Fat Joe to offer 'Still Not a Player' and Luda plans to contribute 'Stand Up' for gamers that prefer their rap with a bit of Southern twang. For Ludacris, the appearance in 'Rapstar' comes after starring roles in some video game movies, including 'Max Payne' and last year's 'Gamer.'
Other confirmed artists include Kanye West, Dr. Dre, 2Pac, The Notorious B.I.G., Wu-Tang Clan, Outkast, Ice Cube, Drake, Pete Rock & CL Smooth, Slick Rick, Lil Wayne, Salt-N-Pepa, T.I., Method Man & Redman and Biz Markie. Players can expect to use a game-specific site to record and upload their performances and freestyles so that other fans can vote on who is the ultimate 'Rapstar' champion.
