Snoop Dogg is no stranger to acting, having graced both the big and the small screens throughout his career. But his latest endeavor sees him following up his bizarre appearance on 'One Life to Live' with yet another soap opera role. The 38-year-old Cali emcee's next gig will be on 'Coronation Street,' a long-running British soap opera Snoop has been a fan for over a decade. The rapper, whose real name is Cordozar Calvin Broadus, has reportedly asked his agents to land him a cameo on the series, with the show's producers expressing interest in having him guest star."[The producers] said they were interested," said Snoop, who recorded a video message to honor the show's 50th anniversary earlier this year. "Hopefully, it might happen. It would be perfect for me to be on the show."
'Coronation Street,' nicknamed 'Corro,' is the longest running and most watched soap opera in Britain. Created in the 1960s, the show will be celebrating its 50th anniversary in December 2010, and will become the longest running soap in the world when 'As the World Turns' ends its run in September '10.
Snoop made his acting debut in the short film 'Murder Was the Case,' released in October 1994. Since then, his Hollywood pursuits include roles in 'The Wash,' 'Training Day,' 'Starsky & Hutch' and more. On the small screen, he's lent his voice to animated shows such as 'The Boondocks,' 'Futurama' and 'King of the Hill,' as well as appeared on series such as 'One Life to Live,' 'Chappelle's Show' and 'Entourage.'
His latest album 'More Malice' -- a re-release of his 2009 LP 'Malice n Wonderland' featuring guest appearances from Bun B, Soulja Boy, The-Dream and Jay-Z -- entered the chart at No. 29 and has sold more than 40,000 copies to date.
