Eminem Accused of Lip-Syncing at Scottish Festival

Rumors of mimed and lip-synced performances have followed Eminem for years, but they are definitely resurfacing in a big way after his performance this past weekend at the T in the Park Festival in Scotland. The show was Em's first U.K. performance in five years and he chose to highlight some of the stadium-ready tracks from his recent 'Recovery' album. Nonetheless, fans were skeptical and claimed that much of the performance was fake.

"His miming was awful," said one attendee. "At one point, he tried to say something and his mic was off."

Another claimed Em didn't even know what city he was in -- an insult to the Scottish people. "He mimed at a supposed live festival and didn't even know he was in Balado. He seemed to think he was in Edinburgh."

It's worth pointing out that there's a big difference between outright miming a performance (think Ashlee Simpson on 'Saturday Night Live' a few years back) and using a pre-recorded vocal track to boost a performer's voice for a large performance. Nearly every rapper that hits the stage at a festival, major arena or large club performs over some preset backing vocals. Check out this video and judge for yourself.

The fact that the words go on when he pulls the mic away does not mean he's lip-syncing. If you pay attention, it's his hype-man that finishes the lines for him so he can catch his breath (all rappers do this) - you can tell it's a different voice.

it's common to have the actual track playing in the background while he sings. if you actually listen, you'll hear that he sings right on top of the actual track bc you can hear where it doesn't overlap 100%. he wasn't sick or anything like that...that's just how every performance is...otherwise how would he breathe?

I don't think he's lip syncing. You hear the other rapper when he takes a break. If he was,it definitely isn't evident with that song!

He did just fine. The partner was the other voice when he lowered his mic to catch a breath. It was choreograph that way. Re-listen to it again. Don't try and smear a good artist.

The very best work that Em did was having Borat's ass in his face at that awards show. He would really look good with Borat's anus hang'in from his nose. The end is near when the likes of Em is big stuff.

Well, who does everyone think is singing Rhianna's part in this performance...??? So, of COURSE there's a track playing that he's "singing" along to.... would be WAY too easy for him to lip synch.

There is NO DOUBT THAT HE IS LIP SYNCHING. he pulls the mic away from his mouth. I hope no one paid to go to see this idiot. My advice is to stay home and listen to an album. Save the time and money. A: he holds the mic so close to his mouth, I doubt if it's even ON. B: He pulls the mic away and you can still hear him rapping. C: He's so far away that you can't tell from the audience if he's singing. D: Are you sure that it's even really him???? Concert goers are being ripped off! LOL FOOLS!!
