Somali-American rapper French Montana hasn't yet dropped his debut studio album, but that isn't keeping him from logging time in the booth. The emcee, whose real name is Karim Kharbouch, is currently gearing up for the release of his first solo album 'Excuse My French' on Akon's Konvict Muzik imprint, but he's also got plans to drop another album, a full-length collaboration with Academy Award-winning group Three 6 Mafia titled 'Cocaine Mafia.'"I felt like, 'Damn, Three 6 Mafia wanna do something with me,' I felt honored," he told XXL of Juicy J reaching out to him as a fan. "So after that me and Juicy J kicked it and we just ended up doing a whole album."
Three 6 Mafia -- Juicy J and DJ Paul -- recorded the album with French over the span of three days, laying down 15 tracks at the duo's studio in Memphis, Tenn. Though the album doesn't have a label home yet, Montana claims that they've already got a first single picked, with plans to release a collaboration with Akon.
"Just had the meeting with Akon yesterday and he was standing behind it 100 percent," he said. "Actually the first single off the project is gonna be me, Three 6 and Akon."
Meanwhile, Montana's debut album 'Excuse My French' features a high profile collaboration with Lady Gaga. Three 6 Mafia is currently awaiting the release of its tenth studio release 'Laws of Power,' which was originally supposed to be released in November 2009. The album, which is said to feature collaborations with Kevin Rudolf, Sean Kingston, Flo Rida and Tech N9ne, is currently without a release date.
