Warren G will commemorate the success of his 1994 debut album 'Regulate ... G Funk Era' with a sequel EP later this year. Powered by the lead single 'Regulate,' featuring Nate Dogg, the original album landed at No. 2 on the Billboard charts, received a Grammy nomination and went on to sale 4.5 million copies worldwide. Other singles from the album included hits 'Do You See,' and 'This D.J.,' which peaked at No. 9 on the Billboard Hot 100, and was later certified gold. When Warren G released his debut on Def Jam Recordings, the label was amidst financial burden, an offset of unsuccessful mergers, despite multi-platinum releases from LL Cool J., Public Enemy and EPMD. With 'Regulate''s multi-platinum sales the album helped revive the label.
The 39-year-old has since dropped five other solo albums leading up to 'Regulate ... G Funk Era: Part. 2.' An official release date for the EP has yet to be reveled.
