According to a complaint filed on July 21, Foxy Brown, born Inga Marchand, is said to have verbally assaulted and exposed herself to Raymond. In a statement issued to The Boombox by Foxy's manager, Bernadette Brennan, addressed the arrest and accusations associated with the Brooklyn native. "Foxy is completely innocent," Brennan said. "She is in good spirits and is looking forward to her performance at B.B. Kings this Sunday [July 25]. She wouldn't miss it for the world."
Foxy, who was released on $5,000 bail, appeared in a Brooklyn criminal court on Thursday (July 22) and was charged with one count of criminal contempt - a class E felony - for violating the order of protection filed by Raymond. "This case will exemplify that orders of protection should be used as shields and not as swords," Bruce Baron, Foxy's lawyer, said outside the courtroom.Brennan also made mention that Brown is currently rehearsing at Night Life Studios in New York in preparation for her show on Sunday, where she will share the bill with special guests A.Z., Cormega, Roxanne Shante, and Spragga Benz.
"Foxy feels very blessed and thankful to be back in the studio making music and we plan to prove that she is 100% percent innocent," Brennan said.
If convicted, Brown could serve up to seven years in jail. Her next court date is scheduled for July 27.
