Rhymesayers, a boutique record label, has turned its yearly independent trek into a tradition and it's no surprise that Atmosphere is leading the charge this time around. The Minneapolis-based hip-hop duo, featuring Slug and Ant, has long been popular with fans that don't relate to the jewelry, guns, money talk and harsh posturing that often defines mainstream hip-hop. The group has famously never inked a deal with a major record label or corporate sponsors.
As for the supporting acts, Blueprint is building up to the 2011 release of a new record called 'Adventures in Counter-Culture,' while Grieves & Budo also have an album in the works that they'll be previewing on stage. The tour takes place is mostly smaller cities, but promises to be a live event to the fullest extent with Atmosphere's full band in tow.
