Far from the 1,000-copy margin of initial reports, Rick Ross debuted behind Em at No. 2 with 'Teflon Don' selling 177,000 copies in its first week on the charts. The sales are an improvement over his last album, 2009's 'Deeper Than Rap,' which debuted at No. 1 with only 158,000 copies sold. The numbers for 'Teflon Don,' which features guest appearances from Jay-Z, Drake, T.I. and more, are impressive for Ross, who struggled to find a mainstream hit with the single 'Super High' ahead of the album's release.
Drake, whose debut 'Thank Me Later' sits at No. 4, continues to approach the platinum mark, selling an additional 47,000 units and putting its overall sales tally at 880,000. OutKast's Big Boi peddled another 18,000 copies of his solo effort 'Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty,' which lands at No. 15 with a total of 107,000 records sold.
Eminem's 'Recovery' is currently the fifth best-selling album of 2010, and earned the Detroit rapper his sixth platinum plaque. Ross's 'Teflon Don' is on the same track to sell as much as its predecessors, two of which have crossed the gold mark.
