Eminem, born Marshall Mathers, may take home the win in a bevy of categories, including "Best Male Video," "Best Hip-Hop Video" and "Video of the Year," all of which are for his Billboard-charting record 'Not Afraid.'
Ever the comedian, Slim Shady gave a rather humorous response to the news he would be the man of the evening during the awards festivities. "Apparently MTV doesn't care that I have two massive stadium shows on the other side of the country the day after the VMA's. F me, right?!?!," said Eminem. "I mean, I'll be there but don't expect me to be nice about it."
Besides the Detroit rapper, hip-hop and R&B favorites such as Nicki Minaj ("Best New Artist" for 'Massive Attack'), Usher ("Best Choreography" for 'OMG') and Jay-Z and Alicia Keys ("Best Cinematography" for 'Empire State of Mind') are all up for awards as well.
The 2010 Video Music Awards will broadcast live from the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday, Sept. 12 at 9 p.m.
