Derrick Louding, 22, was charged with witness intimidation back in June. He allegedly brandished two loaded clips and threatened to shoot a witness involved in the Boosie murder case. He approached the woman and her sister at her home in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Louding reportedly stated that he was angry about his "boy being locked up," referring to his 17-year-old brother Michael "Marlo Mike" Louding. The younger Louding has been indicted on six murder charges in the Baton Rouge area, including the killing of Lil' Boosie rival Chris "Nussie" Jackson.
Baton Rouge District Attorney Hillar Moore has revealed that witness tampering is not uncommon within Boosie's crew. During the 2009 trial of Melvin Vernell Jr. and Marcus Roach -- managers of Boosie's record label Trill Entertainment -- an FBI agent testified that the defendants threatened and bribed witnesses, brutally beating one man and bouncing a $5,000 check to another. Vernell and Roach were eventually released on a technicality, as the D.A.'s office took too long to bring the case to trial.
Meanwhile, Boosie remains imprisoned for first degree murder, and is still under investigation for his role in five of the murders which the 17-year-old Marlo Mike Louding has been charged with. Boosie has also been charged with three counts of possession with intent to distribute narcotics, for attempting to import codeine and marijuana into his correctional facility.
If found guilty of all charges, Boosie may face the death penalty.
