'Lyrics,' set for release through his label, CandyMan Music, and Entertainment One, is the long-awaited follow-up to such albums as 'Journey of a Gemini' and the platinum-selling effort, 'Where I Wanna Be.' It also follows the impact of 'The Lost Files,' which dropped less than a year ago.
Jones, who cemented himself in the R&B landscape in 1996 with his solo effort, 'My Heart,' is noted for his songwriting skills on Usher's 1995 hit 'Think Of You' and 702's 'Get It Together.' One of his most popular tracks to date is the Lisa "Left-Eye" Lopes-assisted 'U Know What's Up,' which earned the singer a No. 1 position on the Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hip Singles & Tracks chart.
The R&B singer will be visiting several cities for the first of many tour dates behind his forthcoming album:
Aug. 13: Birmingham, Ala. Hot 107 Ten Dollar Concert Series
Aug. 15: New York, N.Y., Harlem Week
Aug. 27: Seattle, Wash., TBA
Sept. 4: Orlando, Fla., Tom Joyner's Family Reunion Day
Sept. 25: Houston, Texas, Radio One Family Fun Day
Oct. 1: New York, N.Y., The Paradise Theater
