DMX Released From Prison

After serving less than half of his 90-day sentence, DMX has been released from a Los Angeles prison. The Yonkers native was freed Thursday (Aug. 12) afternoon after serving only 18 days behind bars for a probation violation, stemming from a 2002 reckless driving conviction. X turned himself in late July after his release from an Arizona prison where he had just served six months behind bars for violating parole with substance abuse.

The troubled rapper has been in an out jail for the past few years and has been desperately trying to turn his life, and fledgling career, around. "I'mma turn myself in," X told TMZ before heading off to jail. "Me and my crew came to the conclusion that that would be best. I like LA. I like to come out here, I like to work, I like to dance so you know I wanted to get that over with because that's one of the first steps in you know in regaining everything I lost."

Provided that he can stay out of trouble with the law, the former Ruff Ryder is said to be working on music for a new album.

"My relationship with god is so much stronger," X said. "He's always had his hand on me. He always guided me. I didn't always go where he wanted me to go. But he always had me. Now that I'm actually listening and being obedient, life is so much better."

He got off, again? I was pissed when he only got probation and a fine for animal cruelty charges. The system doesn't work.

Can I come to LA and break the law? Oh I have been on TV so I should not have to pay a fine or do time. Grape Nut Land Calli is a joke. They can not pay there bills and the jails are overcrowded is a joke as well. Kill the people on Death row and make room.

As if religion isn't a big enough joke as it is... rappers always thank god for the success of the mediocre garbage they call music or claim god changed them while locked up, only to go on and do the exact same crap that got them in trouble to begin with. Mindless trash.

aol should make sure their writers aren't letting their religion impact proper journalism ... notice how ms muhammad wrote God in lower-case letters! would she have done the same for whomever/whatever she worships? Don't think so... subtle but making the point for her comrades.

Ok, if you get less than 6 months, you go to JAIL not PRISON in the State of California. but maybe these websites get kickbacks on giving the fake street cred that prison time gets over the pissant county jail stint just being an embarassment.

Excuse me, but did anyone notice that in this article the writer seems to boldly offended believers by withholding the capital "G" in GOD in a tongue-in-cheek presentation.

What a downer.

All of these ghetto fast talking trashy bums who call themselves artists should be thrown in jail for life and the key thrown away.

If they could throw all the slaves owners, rapist, thieves, liars, murderess, (lynching, hanging, burning, beating, shooting, water hoses, dogs)and priests children molesters in jail this would be a much better world.
