Heralded as one of the greatest solo albums to be recorded by a member of the Wu-Tang Clan, Ghostface Killah's 1996 classic 'Ironman' is getting the re-release treatment. Get On Down Records, the same imprint behind the upcoming rerelease of Common's 'Resurrection' box set, is repackaging 'Ironman' as a double-LP complete with a replica of the poster that was used to promote the original release.

The album, which is set for a limited release on September 14, will also include the 'Soul Controller,' a track included on the original album that was later removed from future pressings due to sample clearances.

'Ironman' was the debut solo album from Ghostface, released on October 29, 1996 via Epic Records. The LP established Ghostface as one of the most lyrically dexterous members of the Wu-Tang Clan, as well as highlighted guest artists Raekwon and Cappadonna who appear on the majority of the tracks. It also introduced a unique sound to Wu releases, with producer RZA incorporating dusty samples from '60s and '70s blaxploitation films as well as soul samples.

Upon its release, 'Ironman' was a critical and commercial success, debuting at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 and selling 156,000 copies in its first week. It would later be certified platinum, and is often considered to be Ghost's greatest album.
