Fantasia Admits Her Overdose Was Intentional

Former 'American Idol' star, Fantasia Barrino, was treated and released from a North Carolina hospital two weeks ago after ingesting a potentially lethal amount of aspirin and sleeping aid. In a new episode of VH1's 'Behind the Music,' which premieres on Tuesday night (Aug. 24), the 26-year-old singer admits that her overdose was intentional.

"I didn't have any fight in me. I didn't care about anything. I just wanted out," Fantasia says. "At that moment, I wanted out. I wanted it to be over with -- all of it, all of that s---."

Fantasia's suicide attempt was triggered by news that she was responsible for destroying the marriage of her alleged boyfriend, Antwaun Cook. Her boyfriend's wife, Paula Cook, made the allegations public when she filed court papers a week earlier, claiming that she could produce a sex tape as proof of the affair. "I just sat in the closet and looked at the mirror and took all the pills in the bottle," Fantasia says, according to People Magazine. "I wanted to go to sleep and just be at peace. I knew exactly what I was doing. You can't accidentally take whole bottles of pills."

Following Fantasia's attempted overdose, Cook's wife retracted her original allegations. In a new statement, her lawyer Nicole Sodoma explains that Fantasia was not responsible for tearing the marriage apart, despite her relationship with Antwaun Cook. "I was tired of people doing me wrong, constantly, over and over again, dealing with my family -- my father, dealing with mean and their s---," Fantasia says. "I was tired. My head was hurting me. I was over it."

Fantasia gave her first post-suicide performance at a recent birthday party for Charlotte Bobcats' player Tyrus Thomas. "I been in the house for a week so you know I'm bout to act ugly," Fantasia said to the crowd.

Catch Fantasia's 'Behind the Music' interview on VH1 at 9PM on August 24.

"He that is perfect should cast the first stone." Fantasia life is a classic one that reveals how people make mistakes and bounce back from them. It mot only depicts a similar story which is shown by the woman that God showed mercy, but it highlights how all of us in one way or another have been granted by God another chance.

Because a person accuses another individual, like Fantasis was acused, does not necessarily make it true. It does, however, appear that Nannyfive5 believes that Fantasia has done a thing of which she actually has not genuine evidence. For the most part, fantasia has shown the world that she is human, she is like all of us vulnerable and that she is growing. If you were old enough to have a daughter Fantasia's age, would you condemn her or would you continue to teach her?

I don't give a damn what you say nannyfive5 because fantasia kept it real and told her what she was going to do. some people hide and act like they never did anything. Trying to kill yourself is a freeway ticket to hell. Fantasia was dealing with alot. People go through alot and others think that there is only one solution to everything and thats killing yourself. I don't think it was right what so ever but fantasia obvously knew what she was doing and she wanted to prove a point. But hands down trying to kill yourself is not good. She should have thought about all the people she was leaving behind plus her daughter. Some people don't think through and do stuff for spite. In her condition she wanted to get him back. One thing i want to bring up is how the hell you going to sue someone for being with your man thta is dumn as he3ll for real. The judge will look at her and go ok and? like i don't know who you are nannyfive5 but you need to think about stuff before you say it because half the shit you said don't even make since. You can talk shit about fantasia all you want but your ass will be the first in the store buying her next album!!!!

So are we supposed to feel sorry for Her?? I DON'T.
She had nothing, and then overnight gained fame and fortune. She had it all, but that wasn't enough. She wanted another woman's husband and and her little children's father. So she set her evil claws for him. He must have had a little more class than her though because when it came to makeing a decision he decided on his wife and kids so she pulled the suicide attempt to get his sympathy and get him back. How cruel she is. With her money and talent that assures her of makeing much more, she could have had her choice of single men. I hope the man's wife sues her and gets every dime she has or will have for a long time. He will go back to his wife then, because she will be the one with money.
Somebody hide the aspirin!!!!
