Brian McKnight Roped Into Rape Allegations

Though he's been relatively conflict-free for most of his career, Brian McKnight has suddenly found himself in the center of a rape controversy. Porn star Alana Evans has alleged that a man sexually assaulted her in McKnight's Los Angeles home while the singer was out of town. McKnight's two teenage sons were said to have held her down while a man named Nicholas Hayes forced himself upon the woman.

But after a month-long police investigation, the 'Back at One' singer claims that no such incident ever occurred. "We take the accusations made by Ms. Evans very seriously," said McKnight in a statement, confirming that a party did occur at his house in December '08 while he was away. "I was in NYC, and both my boys (ages 15 & 17 at that time) were at the house with some friends. I can confirm that Ms. Evans was in fact at the house, as I discovered she provided some of the liquor."

McKnight stated that he doesn't have full knowledge of what transpired during the party, but understands that the partygoers put her to bed at 2AM after she had too much to drink. Evans stayed around the house throughout the next day, and waited two days to contact the LAPD.

"The police concluded that no rape had occurred, and no charges were ever filed. This information is all part of the official police report," he said. "Rape is a very serious matter, and not something we take lightly. I truly hope that Ms. Evans was not discriminated by the police because of her profession. I believe that the police concluded simply that no crime had taken place."
