'Halo: Reach' will hit stores at midnight on September 14, and Cudi will be on hand to ring in the game's launch with a live performance at the Best Buy theatre in Times Square at 11:33PM. The performance will be featured on the Times Square MTV billboard, and it will be broadcast on Spike TV, for fans who can't catch the show in person.
Phil Spencer, corporate vice president of Microsoft Games explained that the company was barring no expenses or theatrics for the highly-anticipated video game launch. "When it comes to the size and scope of a franchise and especially the dedication of the fans, no game is bigger than 'Halo," Spencer said in a statement. "With 'Halo: Reach,' we're delivering on our promise to redefine blockbuster entertainment experiences and ultimately help make this year the biggest ever in Xbox history."
Cudi's performance will be preceded by 'Halo' gaming festivities, which include the chance for fans to win prizes and meet the game's creators. Similar events will he hosted to celebrate 'Halo: Reach' in other major cities including San Francisco, London and Stockholm.
