While technically not RZA's directorial debut -- that would be his unreleased feature-length film that was supposed to accompany his 1998 'Bobby Digital in Stereo' album -- it will be the first RZA-directed film to hit the big screen. He'll also co-star with Crowe, playing a blacksmith in feudal China. As for Crowe's character, the RZA only cryptically revealed to E! Online that "Russell's gonna be the baddest man alive."
'The Man With the Iron Fist,' described as a "stylized martial arts film," is scheduled to begin filming in Hong Kong and China this December. The film has been in the works for five years and includes 'Hostel'-creator Eli Roth and Quentin Tarantino on its creative team. Universal recently green-lighted the project with a $20 million budget. No word on whether or not there will be any cameos from other Wu-Tang members, just yet.
