"I been saying my album was coming and it was, but I left Interscope and now, I'm on EMI so the album is definitely coming at the top of the year," the Philly native told Ms. Drama TV. "It's called 'Lip Lock,' it'll be out at the top of the year in March. I don't have a date yet."
Eve has enlisted an eclectic roster of producers to help out on the album, with beats courtesy her former Ruff Ryders producer Swizz Beatz, Salaam Remi, Akon, electronic duo MSTRKRFT and fellow Philadelphians Chiddy Bang. And while she hasn't given any clues as to who might contribute guest verses on the album, she hinted that there might be a Ruff Ryders reunion that makes the final cut.
"You don't get out of Ruff Ryders," she joked. "Obviously, that's my fam, and I haven't wrapped up the album yet, but you'll hear stuff from somebody."
Formerly titled 'Here I Am' and later changed to 'Flirt,' 'Lip Lock' dates back to 2007, when the rapstress first announced that she was recording tracks with Swizz Beatz and Pharrell Williams. Eve shed light on her rocky situation at Interscope in 2009, delaying the album to mid-2010 and later announcing she parted ways with Interscope. Since the album's announcement, Eve has flexed her acting chops with a guest appearance on 'Glee' and in the indie comedy 'Whip It.'
