This year, genre legends Pete Rock & C.L. Smooth will reunite for a rare set to headline the event along with a special performance by ONYX. The performances will be augmented by a series of panels that strive to address important events and ideas within hip-hop culture. Past performers and speakers have included KRS-One, Dilated Peoples, Aceyalone and Crooked I.
Event planners for the One Nation Hip-Hop Summit are anticipating that more than 1200 people from the Los Angeles area will attend the concert portion of the festivities. Over 250 people usually attend the panels, which will feature a theme of "Building Bridges: Locally and Globally" this year. Adventurous participants can also take part in a youth-organized theater production that will combine rap, scratching, dancing and art and will be entirely conceived during the Summit.
