Filming for 'Single Ladies' began this past spring in Atlanta, and marks the first time that VH1 has picked up a scripted show of this kind. 'Single Ladies,' written by Stacy Littlejohn and directed by Tamra Davis, is described as a "relationship, comedic drama set in the world of Atlanta fashion, music and celebrity."
The dramedy stars Stacey Dash as aspiring fashion mogul Val, while LisaRaye McCoy takes the identity of former video vixen Keisha and Charity Shea plays April, who has found what she believes is the perfect man and marriage but learns that all that glitters ain't gold. In addition to the aforementioned ladies, the show will feature guest appearances from Lauren London, Eve, Common, Chilli, Kim Porter and the Queen herself.
"My partner Shakim and I are excited to collaborate with VH1, as they have a similar vision on how to bring this show to life. I think 'Single Ladies' will really fill a hole in what is needed on television today," said Latifah in a statement.
