T.I. Sued for Skipping Welcome Home Concert

T.I. might be headed back to jail soon to serve an 11-month sentence, but he's paying for more mistakes he made following his recent release from prison. A promoter named Carl D. Davis has filed suit against the King of the South in the United States District Court for the Southern Division of Alabama earlier this week, claiming that Tip cost him $340,000 after he canceled the appearances at a Welcome Home concert.

According to AllHipHop.com, the suit claims that Davis flew to Atlanta and forked over $80,000 to T.I. and his reps to confirm his performance at his first "Welcome Back Party," which would have taken place at Birmingham Jefferson Coliseum on May 28. Davis realized something was wrong when Tip visited 95.7 FM and stated that he wouldn't perform at the gig, but would instead host it.

Fans began to question the concert's legitimacy, which caused Davis distress and put him in the hospital. Davis claims that he lost his entire life savings, and is suing the emcee to recover his money.

"Coupled with his financial expenditures since the inception of the agreement, Davis began to experience heavy stress, suffer chest pains, nausea, emotional distress and hospitalization because of the vast amount of investments he made," reads the lawsuit.

T.I. was recently handed an 11-month sentence mere months after he was released from a yearlong bid. Tip and his wife Tameka "Tiny" Cottle were pulled over and subsequently arrested in L.A. in September after police found narcotics in their vehicle.

First off he was in jail. So how could he agree to do this? Second if his agent or management di do this they are the one's who need sued not T,I. And he gave 80,000 and is ask for 340,000 now thats a GOLD DIGGER IF YOU ASK ME. I bet 340,000 if you ask his friends this guy never went to hospital if he did doc's will say he had flu or some thing not what he say's. See this is why I never did what I could have done because theres to many GOLD DIGGER'S OUT THERE WANTING SOME THING FOR NOTHING! He should have went to jail and ask t,i first and had HIM SIGN not his agent or management. So if I were judge I'd throw this case out and tell him sue his agent an or management not ti he was in jail. and if I were t,i i'd fire agent and management and sue them also for doing this with out my consent.

Umm... You all need to stop judging Nadine. This is a damn blog, about TI's simple self, not learning his lesson. If you all want to crticize someone's writing skills, check your own and become English Professors. He needs to remain in jail. He has been arrested and incarcerated so many time,s that it is not even funny. I think that he likes being in jail. Smh.

yes, i agree. I am not saying t.i shouldn't serve his time, but lindsey should go to jail just as well, because she has violated her probation numerous times. Yes, t.i''s origional crime was for weapons charges, and he violated his probation due to finding drugs, but that goes to show how rappers get harsher sentences and lil pretty socialites and actresses get off.

This punk should be sent to a real prison, not some club Fed like he went too. Going to Club Fed doesn't doesnt give you cred, TI. Go to a real prison and he would end up changing his name to Ms.Pretty TI.

There is two sides to every story and maybe he did notshow up because he may be embrassed of what happen tohim knowing he just got of jailed. so you just have to give ti anohter chance to explain himself and get his act together. maybe he did not want to do the show and i wonder if you,ll every ask him to do it. so there are two side to every story. just don,t talk to fastwithout asking any questions. so good luck to you ti and your family and be more careful next time.
