Kanye Cancels Black Friday Performance on 'Today' Show

Kanye West lashed out against NBC's 'Today' show and Matt Lauer for eliciting emotional responses during an interview that aired yesterday, but fans were surprised when the host announced that West would be back to perform on the show on November 26. As expected, the hotheaded rapper has canceled the Black Friday appearance, taking to his Twitter account to rant about why he won't be gracing the peacock network anytime soon.

"I'm not performing on the Today Show for obvious reasons,' he wrote. 'I'm so happy the world got to see just a small piece of 'the set up.' I blatantly said I'm not performing on a tweet and to everyone around me and the next day they still announced a performance."

West explained that he is being made out as the villain in the situation, despite the fact that he announced he wouldn't be performing before the segment aired. 'Do you guys see what I'm saying now... this is just a small slice of the day to day bulls--- that goes on that helps to precipitate the idea that I such an a--hole....,' he continued. 'Cause when I don't perform oh noooow I'm the one that's crazy or a jerk! If I hadn't tweeted about how they set me up at the show they would have never played the extra footage that displayed how disrespectful...'

The Chi-town native wrapped up his diatribe by claiming that there are no hard feelings towards Matt Lauer in spite of his playing past footage under Kanye while he tried to speak. "I don't hate Matt Lauer...," he said. "All positive energy ... all smiles. Much love to Matt and the whole Today Show. I accept ya'll future apology in advance LOL!"

May have well canceled. The only people out there would probably be the regular crowd that comes out for a normal day. Not the street full of back to back people that comes out for the Today's concert. After seeing him on Today, I KNEW he would cancel. Keep this up West and you won't have any fans.

Kanye West is a "punk" in the vernacular of rappers, and a pompous ass to everyone else!

While he was right about Bush, he's a low-talent, huge ego, waste of time. He's boring and self-indulged. He's a "celebrity" that could go away and never be missed.

who the hell is listening what douchebag has to say? Why do people even care about someone who opens his mouth to gain publicity? What a joke! Just have him shut it and let him crawl back under the stone he came from!

I guess a person would have to cut him to pieces in order to get a highrating. Interesting, thats what the people like to hear.

All they did was show your true colors Kanye, sorry if you can't deal with it. I'm sure NBC can fill your spot on the 26th.
