Fantasia Testifies That She Aborted Ex's Baby

Singer Fantasia Barrino testified in the child custody hearing for her former boyfriend, Antwaun Cook, in Charlotte, N.C. on Monday (Nov. 22). The former 'American Idol' admitted she knew he was married at the time of their affair, and became pregnant with his child, which she later aborted. According to CNN, once under oath, Fantasia changed her first story in which she claimed to have no knowledge of his relationship status with Cook's wife Paula, whom he was living with at the time. Sources in the courtroom, which included a member of Cook's family, confirmed that Barrino admitted to terminating the pregnancy around the time of her suicide attempt.

As previously reported, Cook's wife filed an Alienation of Affection lawsuit against Barrino, citing her as the cause of her marriage failing. The law, which is legal in the state of North Carolina, is a tort brought on by the deserted spouse against a third party alleged to be responsible for the dissolution of the marriage. In the lawsuit, Paula noted that her soon-to-be-ex enjoyed a lavish lifestyle at the expense of Barrino's bank account and notoriety. Barrino, 26, originally owned up to dating Cook "off and on for several months," but insisted that she believed that he and his wife were separated. Paula and Barrino attempted to come to an agreement via private mediation on Nov. 1, but failed to reach a settlement.

In light of the media firestorm surrounding her, just days before the release of her third album, Barrino attempted suicide, ingesting a large amount of sleeping pills and aspirin. After spending two days in the hospital, the singer was released and later had a meeting with Cook, which was documented on her VH1 reality show 'Fantasia for Real.'

The child custody trial is set to continue in December. Barrino is currently on a nationwide tour promoting her album 'Back to Me.'

please fantasia please remember that everybody is gonna have opinions about the situations u going through. so what that i think antwan and wifey set u up...just my opinion. loving living learning is what life's all about. u just getting ur wisdom lumps. money and fame cant by u love, but i guess u know this now. fantasia from one artist to another i care and pray for u everytime i read negative crap about things ur going through. take abit of wisdom that i've learned....if ur gonna get involved with someone.....get with someone that has just as much to lose as u do! i bet u u wont get all this drama love and praying for u.

Fantasia needs to leave this man alone. It's obvious he saw $$$ signs and wants to use her. The sad part about this, she's getting played by both of them. I wouldn't be surprised if she found out they planned this. How do you pursue a famous celebrity being a married man period! He knew his marriage was having issues. Him and his wife are cashing in on Fantasia and she's too dumb to see it. If fantasia was to ever marry this man, she would have to pay Paula child support. Smh....fantasia is dumb, really really dumb fa real. I love her and support her but she has to learn to make responsible decisions. She's not 18 anymore. Everybody keeps saying she's not ready for fame, and she's not doing a good job of proving them wrong.

I don't think I could ever abort any of my children regardless the circumstances behind their conception, I would just be sure not to get myself in that position again and double up on birth control methods if I intend on being intimate again.

Paula knows she is dead wrong. She needs to leave Fantasia alone, and take her frustrations on her husband. He is the one who lied and said he was separated. However if I was Fantasia and in her position as a celeb and everything I wouldn't have touched that man until I saw the divorce papers but love is hard to fight and things happen but to blame it solely on Fantasia is wrong. It's obvious their marriage had issues or he wouldn't have been with her.

@dawnicawc....i agree like it definitely take two and she maqd because someone filled in where she fell off so she can't take that on fantasia she was lied to by a MAN who knew exactly what he was doing but got caught....@Amari's Mom i think it was too because as fantasia said that she and him was real discreet and almost never really seen together and for his wife to find out was just like come on now...
