The Chicago emcee is in great company as many musicians are scheduled to appear including legendary blues singer B.B. King, 9-year-old singing sensation Jackie Evancho, who appeared on the most recent season of 'America's Got Talent,' and singer/songwriter Jim James of the alt-rock group My Morning Jacket. Grammy winning group Maroon 5 and singer Sara Bareilles have also been added to the line-up.
Officially ushering in the holiday season, the ceremony will be broadcast on public television from the Ellipse at President's Park in Washington, D.C. on Dec. 9 at 5PM, and will air throughout the entire month. The event can also be viewed online at TheNationalTree.org.
The National Park Service preserves unimpaired the natural and cultural resources and values of the National Park System and itís over 350 National Park sites for the enjoyment, education, and inspiration of the public. The organization works with partners to extend the benefits of natural and cultural resource conservation and outdoor recreation throughout this country and the world.
