The Slaughterhouse emcee was previously signed to Dr. Dre's label, Aftermath, and also spoke on how he asked to be released from the imprint. "He didn't want to release me because he had a plan or whatever," says Joell of Dre. Joell also shared that he has a pair of joints on the mystical 'Detox.' "I wrote on the 'Detox,' I got some money from that. So he's a great business guy, and he granted me that release. I was hot, and he could have been like 'Chill out.' So shout out to Dr. Dre for letting me spread my wings and fly and grind and get to where I'm at right now."
He also explained how the Internet helped form his supergroup Slaughterhouse, which features Joe Budden, Crooked I and Royce Da 5'9". "The net formed the group, they demanded for us to do more records together and form the group," he said. "So we did it and the first album was received crazy. We've been on five tours and the group isn't two years old yet, so this is a beautiful situation for all of us."
