Leaders of the New School to Reunite Without Busta Rhymes

Influential '90s rap crew Leaders of the New School have announced plans to reunite onstage the first time in over 15 years, minus their most popular member, Busta Rhymes.

On Dec. 23, the remaining members of LONS -- Charlie Brown, Dinco D. and Cut Monitor Milo -- will be performing at the Knitting Factory in Brooklyn, N.Y. with fellow '90s rappers Son of Bazerk and Grand Daddy I.U. Best known for their appearance on A Tribe Called Quest's 'Scenario,' the Long Island rap group disbanded shortly after releasing their second album, 'T.I.M.E.,' due to fans' increased interest in the blustering and energetic Busta Rhymes as a solo artist.

Though they reunited on Busta's 1996 debut, 'The Coming,' Busta and the rest of the group have continued a fairly contentious relationship ever since. Dinco D. released a diss track in 2006 entitled 'F--- Touch It,' in response to a perceived diss on Busta's 'Touch It' single. "I heard it on a Clue mixtape where [Busta] called us a bunch of b----es," Dinco said in a 2006 interview. "He said some real foul s---, saying my crew's acting like a bunch of b----es...and following conversations, he's just been mad disrespectful to me."

In addition to the reunion concert, LONS have confirmed that they are recording a new album with Public Enemy producer DJ Johnny Juice, who is also performing at the reunion. For more information, or to buy tickets, click here.
