After a series of shows backing up his father, Kurtis Blow Jr. is kicking off a music career of his own with a mixtape called 'Californication.' The tape features production by Boi-1da, CheckMate, Rocko, Aliby and more. Jr. has already cashed-in with his father on a recent 32-city tour entitled 'WorldWide Breaks' and is planning to hit the road on his own in February after a quick trip through Japan.
You can download the 'Californication' tape here. Don't expect the old school, rock-the-party anthems of his father, though. Blow Jr. sounds like a cross between Lil Wayne, Drake and Wiz Khalifa. Jumping on Nicki Minaj's 'It's Going Down,' the younger Kurtis seems right at home in the 2010-11 landscape.
