A source for the Post claimed that first, Kweli thanked Hennessy for sponsoring his 2009 wedding, otherwise he wouldn't have gotten married, and that DJ Eque later "flew into a rage and launched herself at Kweli," after allegedly seeing him flirt with other women." This week, both Kweli and his wife addressed the rumors, explaining that the story had been blown way out of proportion. "Although we argued, none of the rest of it is true," Kweli explained to MissDimplez. "I definitely did not say I would not have gotten married if it wasn't for Hennessy. I wasn't kicked out, the party had been over and the footage of what I actually said is on YouTube."
DJ Eque reiterated the sentiment on Twitter, explaining that reports of the two wrestling and smashing into tables before being kicked out of the bar were all fabricated. "Who is making up all these crazy a-- rumors? My husband did not hit me and I didn't go into rage and attack him over flirting??" she wrote on Twitter. "That's crazy, ppl need to check there facts before they start reblogging stuff!! It's time for joy and blessing, just stop with all the negative talk and energy ... we all need to be more thankful."
