Nas' Child and Spousal Support Payments Cut in Half

According to documents obtained by TMZ, Nas won't have to drop as much money on child and spousal support to his ex-wife Kelis. The rapper's payments -- which were made public during the thick of the couple's divorce and noted as being considerably high -- have been cut in half. The Queensbridge-bred rapper will now have to pay $5,000 a month in child support for baby Knight and $20,000 a month to Kelis.

After four years of marriage (and two years dating), Nas and Kelis split in 2009 while the R&B singer-turned-disco-diva was seven months pregnant with the pair's first child. The divorce became final in May 2010 after a bitter battle that seemed to be centered around money. While Nas certainly hasn't come out on top, the recent news is a victory for the rapper, who from the start of the financial fight, claimed he didn't gross enough to pay the original $50,000 a month in support.

In other news, Nas is said to be working on a new project, 'The Lost Tapes 2,' which could be released sometime later this year. Nas will reportedly team with Swizz Beatz, DJ Premier, The Alchemist, Dr. Dre, Kanye West and RZA for the upcoming LP but details haven't been confirmed.

hi nas,

honestly im a fan of bothe him and her. I love kelis music ever since she released i hate u so much right now. She back then brought a different type of style and music to the scene that ultimately wasnt up tp where she was tryna go, any way, as for my boy nas, he has been a detrimental part of hiphop and a part of what i listen to on a day to day basis. Just finish watching belly with him and the whole cast that not to mention i love. Everyone thought that this would be a jay and B couple but who knows the stars best but the peolple who really are involved in there everyday life. I guess it wasnt so great of relationship. For the both of them i wish them both blessings and to be the best artists as well as parents to that beautiful child they have. Nevertheless, to touch on the payments and the cut, i think its just because not saying he isnt out grinding bringing in money from still putting out music even if we as followers dont hear anything from him. 50,000 a month is pretty steep, isnt it? Honestly 20,000 is much but i guess when u live in a envirnment when the cost to live can be anyway from 10,000 a month until, vs 1,000 a month in the bronx. keep ur heads up and leave it in GODS HANDS!.
