Going under the righteous name DJ Loretta Brown, Badu will pull a normal shift with the rotating Core cast of DJs. Her addition to the crew was announced by its founder and leader Tony Neal. Earlier today, he tweeted the news that Badu had made the team.
"Big move today," he tweeted with the following picture of Badu in action. "@fatbellybella in the Core. My sis is a serious DJ! #DJLorettaBrown."
Badu responded, "I am honored and do not take it for granted. b-girl for life . head wrapped and strapped." No word on what she'll be spinning, but in mid 2010, Badu sat down with Pitchfork and highlighted her favorite artists throughout the years, touching on everyone from Notorious B.I.G. and Doug E. Fresh to Nirvana and Gorillaz.
