According to TMZ, Bruno Mars has copped a deal in his cocaine possession case. The 'Grenade' singer, and his lawyer Blair Berk, appeared in a Las Vegas and pleaded guilty today (Feb. 16) to possession of a controlled substance.

Mars -- real name Peter Gene Hernandez -- will be required to do 8 hours of private counseling and 200 hours of community service with a charitable organization. He must also pay a $2,000 fine. According to TMZ, Mars' deal also states that the charge will be dismissed if he stays out of trouble for 12 months.

Berk tells TMZ, "We are very pleased that the prosecution has agreed to dismiss the charge."

Bruno was arrested in September at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino after a bathroom attendant told security a man was doing coke in the bathroom.

Just don't understand why celebrities get off so lightly. You can't have two sets of rules.

8 hours of counseling? Are you joking? When I got a DuI, i had to do 20 hours of counseling.

the courts on Clark County are a joke. I have a friend who's ex-wife has file 31 false police reports against him and the DA will not arrest her for the false filings. And this woman has two domestic violence convictions (he has none).

Would this have happened if he wasnt a latino. Another slap on the wrist by the left wingers and we wonder why there is so much crime in this country.

If he was anyone else....he'd be sitting his butt in jail. What's with all these celebrities getting off so lightly in their sentencing?

Exactly...this only teaches our youth that "drugs" are cool and that this is not a serious crime. I like Bruno Mars a lot. However, I hope that one day one of these celebs after getting busted stands up and does the time for the crime. That might just send a stronger message to our youth.
