Fat Beats
"FB BK is an event, which we will be holding once a month, during which we will make a section of our BK warehouse available to the public as a retail space," says a statement given to our brethren at the Village Voice. "FB BK will be reminiscent of the atmosphere and energy that the NY and LA stores once exuded. We have DJs of note spinning throughout the day, such as DJ Evil Dee, DJ Spinna, and Rich Medina."
Next month's party will take place on March 5 from noon until 8PM EST. As Fat Beats' owner Joseph Abajian told us last year, it's still important for people to congregate in public and celebrate the music we love in a physical sense. "There are less than before, but there's new stores popping up all the time," he told The BoomBox. "I would still encourage artists to find a local store. We are physical people. We have to interact."
