"It's official! Made the change to Roc Nation Management!!!," the Santi tweeted.
Though Santigold is known for her genre-bending punk, electro and reggae-influenced sound, she also has a long history of work with hip-hop and R&B artists, including Roc Nation honcho Jay-Z, with whom Santi recorded perhaps her biggest song, 'Brooklyn (Go Hard),' The tracks was also produced by Kanye West.
Santi started her career as a songwriter, writing most of Res' overlooked 2001 album 'How I Do,' before appearing on GZA's 'Legend of the Liquid Sword' in 2002, under her birth name Santi White.
Upset over the outcome of her album with Res, the Philadelphia-born singer opted to focus on her career as an artist, starting the punk-influenced rock band called Stiffed, which released two albums in 2003 and 2005. In 2007, Santi began recording as Santogold, and released her acclaimed solo debut of the same name in 2008. She continues to work as a songwriter, recently penning tunes for Lily Allen and Christina Aguilera.
Due to a lawsuit over her moniker, Santi officially changed her name to Santigold in 2009, and is currently wrapping up her highly-anticipated sophomore release.
