Ja Rule Pleads Guilty to Tax Evasion, Faces More Jail Time

As if he wasn't already in the dog house -- and, in fact, headed to the jailhouse this summer -- Ja Rule pleaded guilty to tax evasion on Tuesday (March 22), promising Uncle Sam that he would pay up, to the tune of $1.1 million dollars, for moneys earned between 2004 and 2008.

According to Reuters, Ja Rule faces three counts of failing to file a tax return and is scheduled to appear for sentencing on June 13. If convicted, he could serve as much as one year of jail time for each count.

The rapper is already headed to the slammer on June 8 -- one day after he will drop his new album, 'The Renaissance Project' -- for a conviction on a criminal weapons charge. This means he's got a lot of living to do between now and then -- lawful living, that is.

Ja Rule and Lil Wayne were both arrested for weapons possession directly following a Lil Wayne concert in 2007. Wayne served 8 months of his one year sentence in New York City's Rikers Island prison, and was released in November 2010. One month later, Ja pleaded guilty to a class D felony, knocking what could have been a seven year sentence to two and a half years in prison, thanks to his plea.

The 'Always On Time' creator is currently hard at work on two new albums, 'Pain is Love 2' and his forthcoming 'Renaissance Project,' both which are scheduled to be released on June 7.

dear ada8steve, its funny that you talk about blacks on welfare when i am sure that the person in question here owes more money than you have ever made. As for the story, a lot oto rf entertainers tend to trust someone to hadle their accounting finances and wind up getting hurt in the end. Its not a black or white thing, its an accounting thing you racist idiots. think before you type.
