Jagged Edge Preps Seventh Album for Summer

Vallery Jean, FilmMagic

After a four-year hiatus, R&B group Jagged Edge are back with the release of their seventh studio album 'The Remedy,' on Slip-n-Slide Records.

With production from the likes of Jim Jonsin and Cool and Dre, the album will be a return to the quartet's musical roots, featuring the "sensual and honest R&B music" their fans have grown to love over the years. Fellow Slip-n-Slide artist turned Maybach Music labelhead Rick Ross will also make an appearance on the project.

The albums lead single 'Baby' -- a sample of Surfaces' 1987 hit 'Happy' -- stands at No. 23 on the Urban AC charts. A video for the single is scheduled to be shot on April 6 in Atlanta. Yolande Geralds, best known for her work with Trey Songz, will be directing the clip.

Brought into the musical spotlight by way of Jermaine Dupri and his So So Def record label, the group is looking to continue their success at their new home. "Jagged Edge will help usher in a new era at Slip-N-Slide Records with 'The Remedy,'" said Slip-n-Slide CEO Ted Lucas in a statement to The BoomBox. "We are excited about the release of this album and watching Jagged Edge climb up the charts again."

Comprised of twin brothers Brandon Casey and Brian Casey and members Kyle Norman and Richard Wingo, the group released their gold-selling debut, 'A Jagged Era,' in 1997.

'The Remedy' drops June 21.
