Similar to their previous collaboration, which took Ross' 'I'm Not A Star' as a guide, this number falls right in the pocket of Rozay's banger 'MC Hammer.' The remixed single was unveiled earlier today (April 4) by DJ Envy on New York's Power 105.1 Breakfast Club morning show. '9 Piece' originally appeared on Ross' holiday season mixtape 'Ashes to Ashes,' where it featured a guest verse from the now-incarcerated T.I. and significantly less powerful drum parts.
Now, the Lex Luger-produced beat is riding its way to the top of Ross' list as a lead single on his much-anticipated follow-up to 2010's 'Teflon Don.' Notably, Wayne steals the show here, continuing his streak of sober yet vicious rapping leading up to the release of 'Tha Carter IV' on May 16.
"It's Lil Tunechi," he raps. "What up, though?/ I'm talking white girl/ Marilyn Monroe/ And I can get 'em/ For the sweet 16/ Hard d---/ Call it flat screen."
The duo that raps together, tours together. Ross is currently opening for Lil Wayne on his national I Am Still Music tour. The tour kicked off in mid-March and will finish up May 1 at the Bamboozle Festival in East Rutherford, N.J.
