The Chi-Town rapper-producer will perform tracks from his most recent album, 'My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy,' while Monae will perform hits from 'The ArchAndroid (Suites II and III)' also released last year. Additional performers at the Øya Festival will include Lykke Li, Fleet Foxes, James Blake and Warpaint. The show runs from August 9 through 13, in Oslo's Middelaiderparken venue.
Monae will be getting fans on their feet with hits like 'Tightrope' and 'Cold War' before the Øya event, though. In July, she joins Katy Perry on the North American leg of the pop star's California Dreams tour. July 13 will see her at Regina, S.D.'s Brandt Centre, then she'll continue up to Canada for three dates in Winnipeg, Calgary and Edmonton.
Kanye West is in the midst of a slew of festival performances. Earlier this week, he wrapped up a headlining stint at Lollapalooza in Chile, sporting his signature red leather outfit, heavily accented with gold chains. 'Ye performed currents hits in addition to classics such as 'Through the Wire,' from his debut album 'The College Dropout.' In mid-April, he will also headline the sold-out Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in California.
Last month, 'Ye brought his entire G.O.O.D. Music family to Austin's SXSW music festival -- including Kid Cudi, Pusha T, John Legend and Big Sean -- for a spectacular showcase, which drew a surprise performance from Jay-Z.
His next release will be 'Watch the Throne,' a joint studio album with Jay-Z. It is rumored to be near completion but so far the duo have only released one single, the Lex Luger-produced 'H.A.M.' which premiered in January. The album is slated to feature production from Pete Rock and Q-Tip.
