"I just spoke with JD [Dupri] yesterday and I got him doing the score and he is actually about to do the music for the TV show sitcom that I am doing with Ice Cube," Bow Wow revealed. "I partnered with Ice Cube and he is producing my sitcom. I told JD when Will [Smith] had his own show, Quincy Jones did all the music so it's only right that he does mine. So I got him doing all the scores to the TV show. I speak to JD daily."
While Ice Cube is a seasoned veteran in the film world, Bow Wow has built up a respectable resume over the past nine years, having appeared in 'Like Mike,' 'Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift,' and the upcoming Tyler Perry film 'Madea's Big Happy Family,' as well as two Cube produced films, 'All About the Benjamins' and 'Lottery Ticket.' Bow Wow has also made appearances on several television shows, including 'Entourage,' 'Smallville' and 'Ugly Betty.'
Dupri meanwhile has no film credits, but his career in the music industry spans two decades, and includes discovering and producing Kriss Kross, Da Brat and Bow Wow. He recently worked on the new Weezer song 'Can't Stop Partying,' which features Lil Wayne.
While production on the show is still in its early stages, according to Bow Wow they have already signed a deal with a network, and will begin filming later this month, once they find writers. "Once we get that we will have a name and we will definitely be filming this year, you'll be hearing a lot about that," Bow Wow explained.
In the meantime, watch Bow Wow in 'Madea's Big Happy Family,' in theaters April 22, and check out his Cash Money debut when it drops later this year.
