According to Supafest's promoters, no explanation has been given for the Virginia production legend's sudden cancellation, yet the the tour continued with headlining rappers Snoop Dogg, Busta Rhymes, Game, Fat Joe, Nelly, Bow Wow and the New Boys more than holding their own in Tim's absence. Singers Ciara, T-Pain, Keri Hilson and Taio Cruz also performed.
Supafest stopped in Sydney and Perth this part weekend, since Timbaland's surprise cancellation, and will move north to Brisbane on April 16 and back down south to finish off in Melbourne on April 17. The four-date urban music tour is expected to draw over 100,000 fans this year.
Originally titled the Ladies and Gentlemen tour, Supafest first took place in 2010, with performances by Akon, Eve, Kelly Rowland, Pitbull, Jay Sean, Sean Paul and Australian artists Chris Sorbello and DJ Nino Brown.
Timbaland is currently working on his fourth solo album, 'Shock Value III,' which will likely feature longtime collaborators Missy Elliott and Keri Hilson, alongside Chris Brown and a slew of cross-genre surprises. Missy and Timbo released the new track 'Take Ur Clothes Off' back in January.
