Lauryn Hill Adds 12 Dates, Bob Marley Tribute Shows to Tour

Vallery Jean, FilmMagic

Lauryn Hill has announced that she will be adding 12 new dates to her Moving Target: Extended Intimate Playdate Series tour.

The previously scheduled dates include less than intimate performances at the Coachella music festival this weekend and the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival in May. Hill has now added dates in Colorado, Oregon and Washington, along with four more dates in California and Texas, and even a show in Las Vegas.

"I've never shied away from being musically adventurous, nor am I known for being a lightweight when it comes to lyrical content or musical exploration," Hill revealed in a statement about her tour.

"These more intimate playdates afford me the time to perform for listeners who haven't heard from me over the past several years or have been misinformed by the inaccuracies in some media coverage, many of which I might add, I find very amusing. Getting back out there to perform is a lot like resuming a strenuous sport after having been away from it for a while, but eventually the muscle-memory kicks in and each day brings progressive strength."

Hill will also be playing sets comprised solely of Bob Marley and the Wailers classics during her shows in Los Angeles, Calif., on April 20, and Ft. Collins, Colo., on April 24.

I sincerely invite and support all types of creativity to continue to inspire me, and Lauryn Hill has definitely established a reputation as one of the best females who ever did it, so I pray that I can do or say something that will inspire her to further her career in music because she is very talented. I can relate with her ideals concerning performing because creative people have triggers, and once fired beautiful things are born. All things in Gods time she will create and perform more. I just know it!
