The N.E.R.D. frontman, who is also one half of the producing duo the Neptunes and behind colossal hits for the likes of Beyonce, Jay-Z, Snoop Dogg and Britney Spears, will discuss his success in the industry during the three-day event which is open to the public. The Virginia native will be featured in one of the conference's "master sessions" to help explore what can be accomplished with talent, ambition, and a knack for collaboration, as well as how to focus those gifts into a successful career.
Other big names expected to attend include Black Eyed Peas lead singer Fergie, who will join other music creators for the We Create Music panel. So So Def founder Jermaine Dupri will be interviewed by his fellow Ocean's 7 group member, singer/songwriter Jhonta Austin, for the master sessions series focused on writing and composing, while Grammy nominee Melanie Fiona will speak during the Women Behind the Music discussion with Kelly Price.
Keeping in line with discussing all realms of music, producer Boi-1da, known for his work on Drake's 'So Far Gone' mixtape and 'Thank Me Later' debut, will headline the 'Deconstructing Drake' panel. Drizzy's longtime friend and collaborator Noah "40" Shabib will also be featured on the panel.
Now in its sixth year, the expo outfits attendees with valuable constructive criticism by allowing them the opportunities for musicians to get their music heard by members of the industry elite. The ASCAP will be held April 28-30. For more information visit Ascap.com/expo.
