The two-disc album, due June 7 via Main Man Records, pays tribute to the iconic group The Runaways, which featured members Joan Jett, Cherie Currie, Lita Ford, Sandy West, Jackie Fox and Vicki Blue. Additional contributors to the compilation include The Donnas, Kittie, The Dandy Warhols, White Flag and more.
A portion of proceeds from album sales will be donated to the American Institute for Cancer Research in honor of fallen member Sandy West, who lost her battle with the disease in 2006. "This is a really special record," says Keith Roth, president of Main Man Records. "It's got so many amazing collaborations; it's really taken on a life of its own."
In addition to appearing on the compilation, Ad-Rock is gearing up for the release of the Beastie Boys' 'Hot Sauce Committee Part 2,' dropping May 3.
