On Monday night (May 9), NBC TV host Jimmy Fallon kicked off a one-week tribute series in honor of the legendary Bob Marley on his late night talk show.

The funnyman has recruited a lineup of stars who will put on nightly performances in honor of the late musician, including Keith Richards, Lenny Kravitz, Jennifer Hudson, Chris Cornell and the latest addition, Ms. Lauryn Hill.

Marley's eldest son Ziggy kicked off the tribute series on Monday night, while Lauryn Hill is scheduled to take the stage on Thursday (May 11), to perform two selected songs.

The 'Jimmy Fallon' appearance will be a rare ordeal for the former Fugees member, who has shied away from the spotlight in recent years, but the connection here runs a little deeper, as Hill has also mothered five children with Marley's son Rohan Marley.

Lauryn Hill is currently performing dates on her Moving Target: Extended Intimate Playdate Series tour, which included a stop at the New Orleans Jazz Festival this past weekend. During her inaugural performance at the annual concert, she treated the crowd to cuts from 1998's 'The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill' in addition to classic Fugees tracks like 'Fu-Gee-La.'

Selected dates on her upcoming tour schedule will also feature sets dedicated solely to Bob Marley and the Wailers.

Bob Marley has influenced the entire world with his music, which will live on to be rediscovered by more and more generations to come. His work has affected my life and my art so much. I paid tribute to him with a surreal and psychedelic portrait inspired by his words. You can see it on my artist’s blog at http://dregstudiosart.blogspot.com/2011/05/in-memoriam-bob-marley.html
