Tyler, The Creator Signing Leaves Boston Cop Hospitalized

Odd Future's reign of terror continues as the group's frontman Tyler, The Creator caused a near-riot yesterday (May 12), during a promotional appearance at Boston, Mass. record store Newbury Comics, leaving one police officer hospitalized.

According to the Boston Herald, a large crowd of teenage OFWGKTA fans gathered outside the store at 4PM for an autograph signing with the 20-year-old Internet phenom, whose new album 'Goblin,' was released on Monday (May 9), when the event got out of hand.

Police were called to the scene after Tyler and several of his group mates reportedly worked the young crowd into a frenzy, standing on the Newbury Comics roof. The crowd quickly became "unruly, climbing up the back of the building's fire escape," revealed Boston police department spokesman Dave Estrada.

In their attempt to subdue the group of excited fans, the police caused a minor fray, resulting in one hospitalized officer, and the arrest of 13-year-old girl for disorderly conduct.

"An officer was injured while dispersing the crowd and transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries," Estrada said.

It is likely that the fans were reacting to Tyler's run-in with police on Tuesday (May 10), during a similar event at a Los Angeles high school, after which the angry rapper tweeted several anti-police messages.

"That's what's expected of them," an Odd Future fan told a local newscast. "If the cops are here, we want to see mayhem. We want trouble."

Tyler and company performed to a sold-out crowd at Boston's Paradise Rock Club later that night. Expect similar antics in New York City tonight (May 13), Detroit on May 16 and Washington, D.C. on May 18.
